Hello, EntreWorship reader! For the last several weeks, I’ve been finishing up my new book, “Trade Secrets: Four Core Strategies to Maximize Value for Service Companies.” (That’s a subtle hint to buy a copy and leave a review, please!)
I published three articles today to make up for lost time. Each one is related to this cultural moment:
There’s a good argument to be made that we live in troubled times. Misinformation from politicians, their spokespersons, and the legacy press confuses our conversations and gaslights truth at every turn.
Unsurprisingly, companies like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and many legacy media companies censor free speech. After watching the first 2024 presidential debate, millions of Americans experienced what happens when what they’re told doesn’t match what they see, hear, or experience.
It’s easy to get distracted, pursue dead ends, and engage in dead-end thinking (such as postmodernist deconstruction, which has become a religion to its many devotees). We don’t want to end up like Don Quixote, who faced imaginary enemies while embracing ideal knightly virtues.
Instead, we must focus on what God approves of:
“Pursue what God approves of: a godly life, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the Christian faith. Take hold of everlasting life to which you were called and about which you made a good testimony in front of many witnesses .” (1 Timothy 6, GOD’S WORD)
How can you know what’s worth fighting for?
The Apostle Paul tells you in Philippians 4:
“Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable. Practice what you’ve learned and received from me, what you heard and saw me do. Then the God who gives this peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4 GOD’S WORD)
Brothers and sisters, we fight for truth and beauty. We fight for our faith with the mighty power of God and the assurance of victory. We fight for our families, our businesses, for a way of life that is peaceful and godly.
In a culture where the goalposts keep moving, and cancel culture is everywhere, don’t be afraid. You’re above that fray; none of the new rules and theories apply to you. You have a different spirit inside you and alongside you as you fight the good fight for the Christian faith.
